Pollinator Gardens at Every Pittsford School
Pittsford’s 5 Elementary schools are creating outdoor education planting beds at each school. This experiential learning will follow the K-5th grade environmental curriculum. Imagine kindergartens farming worms and creating compost to use in the planting beds.
1st
graders will study bunny and plant relationships.2nd grade will learn about native and honey bee pollinators. 3rd grade will plant pollinator and butterfly host plants. 4th grade will experience water and climate. 5th grade will study habitat and the relationship between deer and plants.
Connecting with nature is good for kids, good for the environment and good for our future.
