IPM Conference

For over 30 years, Cornell University and their research has been a guiding principle for the Broccolo Way. We were the 1st recipient of the Cornell Excellence in IPM Award and have continued to implement new approaches to a heathy landscape. We are proud to set the standards for the landscape industry and once again Lauire Broccolo will share her experience along with several Cornell experts at the annual conference.
You are invited to this webinar which is open to the public.

Foodscaping

Cold hardy vegetables are here. We know you’re anxious to get started on your garden, but don’t plant the tomatoes or cucumbers yet. Herbs and leafy vegetables can handle nightly dips in temperatures, so get a head-start this week.

Birdhouse with Living Roof

April 29th, 10am – 11:30am

Decorate a wooden birdhouse with live plants for use in your garden or in your house.  We provides all materials including birdhouse, moss, plastic liner, plants, and glue.  Afterwards, paint or stain your birdhouse to protect it.

(Ages 18 and up)

It’s Edge and Mulch Time!

There’s nothing like a crisp edge to define your garden. We prefer an edge cut at an angle with a sharp spade. Then mulch inside the groove, and be careful not to spill the mulch into the lawn or all over the shrubs!

Mulch is not needed every year, fluff what is there before adding more. Do not pile mulch around the trunks of trees as it will cause the bark to rot.

Here are some photos of mulching Broccolo’s Way vs. the damaging method of using a Mulch Volcano.

Lawn Care is in Full Swing

The Spring rain is making the grass nice and lush, but the weeds are soaking it in, too! Our Lawn Care teams are out keeping lawns beautiful and catching those weeds as they pop up. Contact us today for a Lawn Care estimate.

Got Clover? Why Not!

Want to help your lawn out? Tell us to leave the clover when we visit…clover will help keep your lawn green during the hot Summer months! Clover is a beneficial plant that some people consider to be a weed, but we at Broccolo like to give you the option to treat or not to treat! We are unique in this business with our standard of spot treatment as opposed to blanket treatment.
