This Christmas season, consider using a live Christmas tree that’s been planted in a container! Bring it inside to enjoy for a couple of weeks during the holidays, then plant it outside afterwards. Less tree waste, and more greenery for your yard! Here’s the trick to keep your tree happy and ready to plant:
1. Dig the hole now and fill with some leaves to make it easy to plant in January, then cover the hole for safety.
2. Move the tree from your house to your garage for a few days after the holidays are over. This will help it to acclimate to the colder temperatures. Be sure the tree is watered.
3. Your tree is ready to plant! Bring it to the hole you prepared earlier, remove the leaves, then plant and use the leaves as a mulch.
