Organized by the U of R’s iZone students work with the community for problem solving possibilities.
A Kaboom grant was obtained to create a Play-Space for equity in the environment.

|
The Rochester’s SW Rotary Club installed and maintain a garden with a book lending library located at the empty lot on the corner of Kenwood Ave
& Kirkland Rd in the 19th Ward.
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
Designed by Landscape architect, Sue Steele with the Project managed by Laurie Broccolo, this empty lot has transformed into a neighborhood gathering place.
|
|
|
|
|
This project has been completed through the support of additional funding and many hardworking volunteers.
In addition to those mentioned above; Thanks goes to 540 W Main which is a virtual hub that brings like-mined people together to engage as an anti-racist resource. Volunteers assisted in the building.

Special Thanks for the hard working “Teens for the Earth”, a year round educational experience sponsored by The Genesee Land Trust.
These kids moved 8 yards of mulch, 6 yards of crushed stone, and are excellent role models for the changing attitude of hardworking youth that give us hope for our future.
A similar attitude was shown with the Habitat for Humanity Youth Build volunteers who enthusiastically dove in with a thirst to learn and contribute.
The Broccolo staff worked tirelessly with many donated additional hours to
complete the project in a timely manner.

It was a great effort by all and one that the neighbors are truly thankful for. A celebration will be held with a neighborhood cookout after ribbon cutting by our mayor on Monday the 12th.
