PLANT OF THE WEEK
Our plant for the week is Spiderwort! These perennial wildflowers grow best in thickets and meadows, and along roadsides and woodland borders. The flowers only bloom in the morning, then wilt into a jelly-like substance.

Spiderwort receives its name from the angular placements of its leaves; this arrangement suggests a squatting spider.

An underused courtyard has been transformed into a peaceful oasis for students at Martin Luther King Jr. School 9.
We at Broccolo began working directly with the girls, educating them on landscaping and entrepreneurship.

Even if they don’t go into landscaping as a career they now know how to garden.
