Save an Ash tree!

It’s no joke… A huge amount of trees in our county are dead or dying because of the Emerald Ash borer. The insect has no known predators and is spread quickly as people transport fire wood from infected trees. We can’t depend upon cold winters to kill the Emerald Ash borer larvae. “Ninety-nine percent of the ashes in North America are probably going to die,” said Andrew M. Liebhold, a research entomologist with the United States Forest Service.

Trees can be protected from the burrowing insect, but they must be treated before the die back progresses too far. Please keep your eyes open for beautiful ash trees in your neighborhood and along the roadsides. Broccolo is trying to locate high value trees that can be treated. Learn simple ways to identify ash trees and contact us at info@broccologroup.com.
