Last year, Broccolo designed and installed several theme gardens.
The Forest Bathing area is tucked into the cool shade of existing trees. It was an area full of litter and by creating a berm to deter crime, it is now an inviting peaceful area open to the community. Young adults have claimed this as their nature spot and have respectfully kept it clean and added a few logs to define the plants and walkways. This is a success that is needed for everyone to connect with nature, decompress from daily stress and recharge their mind to face school, work and home-life.
We hope more neighborhoods are able to find respite in small corner parks like this. Kudos to Greentopia for sponsoring this gift.

Since retiring from her business, Med-Scribe a healthcare recruiting agency, Bobbie Kavanaugh-Reif has made it her passion to turn her lawn into a butterfly habitat with specific goals of providing milkweed plants for the monarch caterpillars. Defying the normal tidy front lawn, she created a tall grassy meadow.

|
The front yard meadow has a mowed buffer around it and is a certified Wildlife Habitat. The sign is displayed at her driveway entrance to encourage others to do the same. Husband, Gary is very supportive and helps with plantings and maintenance at their home and a nearby farm they purchased to create a larger native habitat for the birds. Here are some tips to get started

Because life is fueled by the energy captures from the sun by plants, it will be the plants that we use in our gardens that determine what nature will be like 10, 20, and 50 years from now.

The Barn at Broccolo Gardens is used weekly for staff meetings. Last Friday July 29th, the announcement was made by owner Laurie Broccolo to officially hand over day to day operations to Jessica DeMasio.

After working several years in all the departments of lawn and tree care, landscaping installation and maintenance, at the same time consulting with clients to sell and schedule contracts, Jessica has proven herself to multi-task and wear the many hats a business owner has to wear. She has been managing the marketing and sales department for the entire company, so the transition to General Manager is an easy one.
Laurie said we have great teams in the office and field to support Jessica in this responsibility.

Laurie will focus on her passion in the garden center along with creating landscape designs for clients.
Shout out and congratulations to Jessica DeMasio our new boss.
