Description

Rain barrels help reduce stormwater runoff to storm drains by collecting and storing rainwater runoff from rooftops. Connect your rain barrel to a gutter downspout on your house, collect rainwater, and conserve tap water by using the rainwater on your gardens and landscaping. You will make and take home your own 55 gallon rain barrel. All tools and materials will be supplied at the workshop. Taught by Caroline Kilmer, a stormwater consultant for the Stormwater Coalition of Monroe County. Caroline has over 15 years of experience providing education and technical assistance on the implementation of green infrastructure, including rain gardens and rain barrels. Workshop fee is $40.00/rain barrel. Pre-registration is required.
