We all love annuals, but at the end of the summer, most of them look pretty fried. They don’t need to be the mainstay of your containers – instead why not go for foliage, form and flowers that are attractive and long lasting? Perennials have it all – you’ll save money because you can reuse them in your garden at the end of the season, or again in next year’s containers. I’ll demonstrate how to create container plantings that perform all summer and into fall: what to look for in a potting mix, how to plant for optimum performance, the many varieties of perennials that hold up well in containers, and how to select combinations for sun and shade. Taught by Christine Froehlich.
