This Saturday!

Spring is popping at the Garden Center…Come and be inspired by a workshop or a sunny greenhouse  full of hanging basketsbrilliant bedding plants, and hydrangeas. Did some of your evergreens get burned by wind and salt? You should see our amazing field grown evergreens, some reaching a lush 10- 12′.  Attend one of our great free workshops this Saturday (listed below), or just enjoy a spring afternoon strolling in our nursery… The butterflies love it, and so will you!

Bird-Friendly Gardens

Join June Summers, of Genesee Valley Audubon Society, for a workshop on creating bird-friendly yards.  Sometimes it’s as simple as leaving dead leaves in a corner of your yard or letting the grass grow longer in one corner for the birds to use for nesting. Living with our feathered friends is delightful and easy.

Rain Gardens Workshop

Learn to design and install a rain garden in your yard…Where to locate it, how to properly size it, and what types of plants to use. Taught by Caroline Kilmer and sponsored by the Stormwater Coalition of Monroe County.

And, build your own rain barrel... to connect to a gutter downspout, collect rainwater, to use on your landscaping.  In this workshop you make, and take home, a 55-gallon rain barrel. Materials supplied: $25.
