Broccolo Garden Center is Putting on the Green!

Celebrate spring! Broccolo Garden Center opens this Saturday, March 14th with weekend hours from 9- 3 throughout the month. Maggie, the flag gal in green, is waiting to greet you!
Choose some cheerful indoor plants: begonia rex, tropicals, pansies, violets and primrose.
Get ready to fire up your grill, with propane gas refills/ exchanges.Once we can see the ground again, order your mulch! If you prepay for Local Double Ground Mulch $35.00 Yard,  we’ll wave the delivery charge and you’ll save $25.00!

Design for Wildlife...Over forty folks came to the Penfield Library this week to hear Lois Dannenberg and Rachel Edwards talk about ways to naturalize gardens for wildlife habitat. As a kickoff to the Genesee Land Trust Backyard Habitat Tour, Janice and David Coons (also Broccolo clients), described their twenty year project naturalizing their historic farmstead in Fairport. A welcome reminder of spring!


Broccolo Staffers on the Go…. Hear Lois Dannenberg speak on dealing with garden pests at Hansen Nature Center, March 14, 10 AM, Free and open to the public.

  • Grow your own annuals, Saturday, March 21; 12-2PM.  Save money, shake off the winter gloom, and go home with a mini garden. Jim Bonnano.
  • Proper Spring Planting, April 4th from 12-2pm. How green is your thumb? Learn how to properly plant, reduce shock, and maintain your favorite perennials and shrubs.  John McIntyre.
  • Attracting Backyard Wildlife, April 18th: 12-2pm. Give the birds and butterflies a good reason to visit your yard. Provide the food, forage, shelter and water that will make your yard a sanctuary for pollinators, Lois Dannenberg.

Join The Finger Lakes Museum & Aquarium at Camp Good Days in Branchport for its third annual Brrranchport Winterfest on Saturday, March 14th from 11 am to 4:30 pm.  Sponsored by Camp Good Days and the Museum & Aquarium, this 2015 Brrranchport Winterfest will feature a day filled with fun indoor and outdoor activities for the entire family! This event is FREE to the public and all are welcome to attend.
