Things to do in April…

Dormant oil spray can be very effective in controlling scale, aphids and mites. When applied correctly by a Broccolo IPM technician, dormant oil is one of the safest pest management options to provide plant protection.

Spring pruning cleans up damage from our severe winter and also rejuvenates overgrown shrubs and trees. Reducing thick, woody stems in overgrown plants will increase plant vitality and resistance to disease and insect attack.

Spring cleanup Rake up snow mold and debris. Tamp down mole and vole tunnels. Check for bark damage by gnawing rodents serious enough to girdle the plant and stop the flow of nutrients from the roots.
